St. Petersburg working group on familial breast cancer

In 1998 St. Petersburg working group on familial breast cancer was formed. This group performs studies to elucidate the spectrum of mutations in BRCA1 gene causing familial breast and ovary cancer in St. Petersburg patients. This research was supported by grants from Russian Fund for Basic Research 98-04-49869 and 01-04-49627.

The team from the Institute of Experimental Medicine perform DNA studies. The team from the Oncology Institute named after Prof. N.N. Petrov is responsible for all contacts with patients and their treatment.
