Familial hypercholesterolemia working group
in St.Petersburg

Studies on molecular genetics of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) in Russia were initiated by corresponding member of RAMS V.S. Gaitskhoki (Institute of Experimental Medicine, St. Petersburg) and conducted under his supervision by  M.Ju. Mandelshtam. The most important results on FH genetics were obtained during collaboration of laboratories headed by corresponding member of RAMS V.S. Gaitskhoki (IEM) and Prof. Eugene I. Schwartz (St. Petersburg Institute for Nuclear Physics). New interesting data on FH genetics were got recently by scientists from Moscow (V. N. Bochkov and co-authors) and from Novosibirsk (A.B. Maslennikov) (see References).
